Affordable Homeschooling

Our goal is to have affordable homeschooling. There are so many resources out there that you could fill every inch of space in your home. That is not necessary- in fact in most cases, less is better.

We can have sooo many resources that they become a burden. You know you have it but can’t remember where, or that you even have it, so you get another. Or you spend so much time dealing with the “stuff” that the whole goal is missed.

Don’t break the bank! Simple is better!

Use your resources wisely

If you have the books, pencils, erasers, and paper- that’s a good start. As you prepare for lessons and subjects, then you can gather other needed materials. Crayons, scissors, poster paint, poster board and what not is great, when you need it. Microscopes and telescopes may not be used for several years depending on the ages of the students, so wait until you actually need it before taking up precious space in your home.

Use your public library

We have a great home library but rather than continue to fill the shelves with every book we need for this subject or that topic, we choose to keep the “classics” that will be read over and over. The “other” resource books are borrowed from our local library which is awesome!

Look online

There are places you can find used items from other homeschoolers, people in your community and online.
