The Sonlight Curriculum Review

The Sonlight curriculum is a classical homeschooling approach that is literature based. They walk with you through every school day so you can teach your children, confidently, "the way you wish you'd been taught." You are actively involved with learning with your children and that makes it all the more intriguing!

Your text books come from a library of books recommend/sold by Sonlight for you to build-up a personal library in your own home (or if you have a public library, many if not all, of the recommended books are there to borrow). You don't end up with books no one will ever look at again. This was the part I loved! You weren’t confined to just one textbook for history or language, instead you had books that expounded on people, places and times. It makes the topics and subjects come alive! That’s why the kids love it! And they will go back to read them over and over again!

The Complete Package!

They've done it all for you!

To help you enjoy school that's flexible enough to fit "naturally" into your life (instead of the other way around) they’ve created the Instructor's Guides: with lessons, schedules, activities, notes, and much more. They have done all the work of daily lesson planning for you!

You have the option of picking a Newcomer program—their easiest-to-use, complete curriculum packages for Preschool through 6th grade—or customizing your curriculum with mix-n-match components. You can even teach multiple children using one program!

Support too!

You and your children can look forward to school each day as you learn together. And should you ever want guidance, advice, or encouragement... you can reach an expert Sonlight Advisor by phone, email, or on the web. What more could you ask for?!

Still opting to put your own curriculum together? I highly recommend the Sonlight Book of Time! It puts all learning into a global overview, helping to make sense of the many parts.
